HERE IS A RECAP OF OUR FALL RETREAT

Our Fall retreat was held on Sept 12-14th at Tall Oaks.  The theme of the retreat was “Gather Us In.”  We were so blessed to have Rev. Terri Hord Owens join us as our keynote speaker for the retreat.  Rev. Terri is the General Minister & President of our denomination.

She spoke to us several times:

-Thursday Evening: “Gather Us In”
-Friday Morning: “Women Shepherding Women” (caring for women in leadership)
-Friday Afternoon: “Beyond” included updates on the State of the Church and the upcoming 2025 General Assembly in Memphis.
-Saturday Morning: “Greater Things”

All of these sessions were very thought-provoking.  It was so hopeful to hear from our leadership.  Throughout the retreat, Regina Kellogg, from North Oak CC provided music for our weekend.

Our Offerings were $2976 total!

We collected $1657 in general offerings that have been split:
- 20% to each the four agencies that the GKC area supports ($331.50 to each):
Fellowship of John at Foxwood Springs, Woodhaven in Columbia, Kansas Christian Home in Newton, KS and the Tennyson Center in Denver.
- DWM Speakers Fund.

-Raised $208 for The Fellowship of John through book sales and donations.  This was sent directly to Fellowship of John.

We kept with our fall tradition of having a mini silent auction for Tall Oaks.  We raised $946 from the auction and designated donations.  In addition, we delivered a heavy bag of coins from our Blessing Boxes ($165).  The Tall Oaks offering ($1,111) was deposited directly to Tall Oaks.

We had 33 women attend in person on Thursday and Saturday and one joined us virtually via Zoom.

We had 50 women attend in person on Friday, including representatives from 22 different congregations in the KC Region.  We were truly blessed from our time together, fellowship, worship, singing and recharging!
